Burn Table Operator

Position: Burn Table Operator
Location: Youngstown
Pay: $15-$18/ hour
Shift: 1st (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) or 3rd (10:30 pm to 6:00 am)

Summary of Responsibilities: This position will be setting up, adjusting, and operating the burn table to cut raw materials such as steel plates, structural, extrusions, etc. as assigned.

Specific Duties:

Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, bills of material, cutting lists, etc.

Sets up, adjusts, and operates Multi-Torch, hand torch, and Oxygen-Acetylene flame cutting equipment.

Uses drawings to determine how cuts should be made.

May perform simple cleaning maintenance operations.

Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.

Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly.

Understanding of required PPE (how to select and why it is required)

Exhibit proper donning of PPE daily

Report safety hazards to supervision/mgt.

Attend monthly all shop meetings

Job Requirements

Mechanically inclined

Reliable/Dependable

1-year experience operating a programable oxy/fuel burn table a plus

1-year experience operating a programable plasma burn table a plus

Experience reading blueprints a plus

Able to read a tape measure.

Strong mathematical aptitude.

Open minded and willing to learn company process.

Willingness to work any shift.

Ability to follow instructions provided by supervisor.

Burn 10, Edge Pro, or Messer Navigator burn table experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

The ability to see and respond to dangerous situation

The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly

The Ability to lift 70 lbs
