Description
The Business Office at Jackson State University is accepting applications for the Bursar position.
Examples of Duties
Lead student registration and other campus events for Bursars Office.
Oversee operations associated with student accounts receivable, student billing, student refunds and collections.
Work with financial aid, registrar's office and admissions to coordinate student financial processes for the university.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations of Title IV, R2T4 and 1098 federal reporting.
Ensure all university funds are properly accounted for and deposited timely.
Maintain accuracy of student accounts and oversee student billing and receipting process.
Prepare weekly tuition and fees collection reports.
Monitor delinquent student accounts and support collection efforts.
Handle escalated student account issues and provide financial solutions.
Counsel manages student accounts receivables to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Represent Bursar Office at Campus-Wide Meetings.
Supervise and lead Bursar Office staff.
Update and maintain fee assessment functionality in BannerSaas.
Oversee third party billing.
Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
Masters Preferred.
5+ years' experience in student accounts receivable, collections, cash management, student billing, title IV funds.
5+ years supervisory experience managing student accounts receivable staff preferably in a college setting.
5+ year experience with Ellucian Banner student accounts receivable module.
Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
