JOB SUMMARY
To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for special education students.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Physically able to lift students and/or equipment. • Is at least eighteen (18) years of age. • Has taken or is willing to take six (6) hours of training. • Has the ability to read and write. • Has a positive attitude towards children with special needs. • Is willing to pursue certification as a school bus driver.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the bus driver by helping students to load and unload from the bus. Helps to maintain proper student behavior while the bus is in operation. Assists the bus driver in keeping a clean, well-maintained bus. Deals with emergencies that may occur while riding the school bus. Performs all other duties as assigned by the bus driver.

PAY & HOURS
This position is an Occasional Temporary OT employee. There are no benefits associated with this position. The rate of pay is on the first increment of the Support Services Salary I scale, which is based on knowledge, experience, skills, and training related to this position.
