Under supervision, to operate a school bus over designated routes to transport students. Typical duties will include, but are not limited to, maintaining approved time schedules and, when necessary, choosing the best alternate route, escorting students across hazardous traffic areas, stopping traffic when necessary, administering approved District policies regarding student conduct on buses. Other duties will include maintaining daily working records, performing safety checks on transportation equipment, servicing buses with gas and oil and performing general cleaning of buses. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of an appropriate California operator s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles; possession of PS Endorsement; possession of CHP permit to operate a school bus; maintain a driving record acceptable for coverage under District vehicle insurance programs.
Possession of first aid qualifications comparable to the standard American Red Cross first aid certificate.

The Washington Unified School District offers free in house bus driver certification training and is offering a $2,000.00 sign on bonus for selected candidates.
