Driver candidates will need to have a clean driving record and be able to pass a physical pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.DefinitionA bus driver is a person who under the supervision of a manager supervisor dispatcher or trainer safely operates a van or bus over designated routes transporting school pupils or clients to and from school or designated locations. In addition a bus driver may transport clients on private charter trips. Bus drivers may work with loud disruptive passengers. Drivers may also work with severely handicapped individuals.Job Duties&bullDrive a bus daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules loading and unloading students or clients at designated locations and schools.&bullPerform a child check immediately after each run.&bullTransport school pupils and teachers on school activity trips.&bullPerform daily inspections of buses and associated equipment prior to transportation of passengers.&bullMaintain good order and discipline among students or clients.&bullFollow company policies regarding pupilclient management and relations with parents teachers school administrators guardians medical practitioners medical facilities and the public in general.&bullKeep records and submit reports as required.&bullWash sweep clean and refuel buses as required.&bullReport all mechanical deficiencies in writing promptly.&bullConduct safe riding instruction and perform bus evacuation drills as directed.&bullAll other duties as assigned.Requirements&bullBe able to pass a physical pre-employment drug test and criminal background check• 3 years of verifiable safe driving with a valid personal driver&rsquos licenseStudent Transportation of America Inc. is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population MinorityFemaleDisableVeterans.
