Job Duties
Under general supervision, duties include but are not limited to:
• Provide a means of transportation for students/staff of the Georgia Academy for the Blind; • Responsible for meeting state driver licensure requirements and obeys all laws for operation of a school bus; • The candidate is under the supervision of the school Property and Supply Manager and the Superintendent; • Enforce normal school system and/or state regulations while transporting groups; • Maintain a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies; • Cleaning the bus at the end of each trip; • Stay with groups on all trips; • Demonstrate courteous and respectful behavior with students, staff and the general public; • Prohibit food and smoking or unsafe conduct on bus; • Perform pre and post trip safety and maintenance checks; • Advise supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs; • Complete records of all trips and submit them weekly.
