POSITION: Bus Driver
STATUS: Casual
SCHEDULE: Casual - To meet the needs of Exceptional Adventures experiences and excursions. 

 

Exceptional Adventures, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is a non-profit organization with more than 40 years of experience. We provide vacation opportunities, social events and monthly dances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our recreational and travel programs are designed to support guests in a wide variety of activities. Organized trips include motor coach, flight, train and cruise packages which are offered year-round.

Responsibilities:

Responsible to the Director of Exceptional Adventures for the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of guests and staff to their destination.  Trips can be a day, an overnight or multi-day trip. All responsibilities shall be completed in a manner consistent with the Vision, Mission and Values of Partners For Quality, Inc.

 

  • Transporting groups of people with intellectual, developmental and autism, volunteers and staff on vacations, by operating the Exceptional Adventures bus to destinations while following all traffic laws in a safe manner.
  • Assist guests and volunteers board and exit the bus.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of luggage and all travel supplies.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition, no items have been left on the bus, and the bus is clean and sanitary. Report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Enforce passenger safety regulations, including proper seating, seat belts, and proper use of wheelchair tie downs.
  • Provide friendly, professional interaction with guests and staff.
  • Manage emergency situations calmly and effectively, following established procedures.
  • Attentiveness to road conditions and passenger activity at all times.
  • Willing to travel and be gone overnight for some vacations.
  • While driving on overnight vacations must be available to drive at any time in the event of an emergency.

Qualifications:
  1. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), preferred
  2. Passenger and/or school bus endorsement, preferred
  3. Clean driving record.
  4. Previous professional driving experience preferred
  5. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations
  6. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  7. Physical ability to sit for extended periods and assist passengers as needed
  8. Ability to lift 50 pounds
  9. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed
  10. Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances
Minimum Compensation: USD $22.00/Hr.

Partners For Quality Inc. (PFQ) is a private, non-profit organization based in Robinson Township. Partners For Quality provides administrative management to five subsidiary organizations that support local individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. PFQ’s management services include Fiscal (including payroll), HR, IT and Communications – thus allowing subsidiaries to focus on their day-to-day priorities. Based in Pittsburgh’s South Side, we provide Intensive Behavioral Health Services, Service Coordination, Student Assistance, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Family Based Mental Health programs. ACI has earned certification from the Council On Accreditation.

Citizen Care Inc. provides residential, day program, habilitation, supported employment opportunities and behavioral support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are a non-profit organization, accredited by the Council on Quality & Leadership. Citizen Care has locations throughout the West Hills and South Hills of Allegheny County.

Exceptional Adventures has more than 40 years of experience providing vacation opportunities, social events and monthly dances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Milestone Centers supports individuals with behavioral health challenges and intellectual & developmental disabilities in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. Our Agency oversees 20 residential settings, two outpatient offices, three adult training facilities, a prevocational enterprise program, a consumer drop-in center, habilitation services, and two Health Care Quality Units in Butler and Warren, which train professionals in 18 counties. Milestone Centers has earned certification from the Sanctuary Institute for providing trauma-informed care.

The Partners For Quality Foundation conducts fundraising for all organizational services and supports.  Partners For Quality Inc. receives operating funds through various sources, private gifts, grants and special events helping the agency go “above and beyond” basic needs. The Foundation’s goal is to build and strengthen PFQ’s support resources to supplement government dollars.
