SOUTH LAKE SCHOOLS

BUS DRIVER (School Year 2026-2027)

3.5 to 7.5 hours per day (3.5 hours guaranteed minimum)

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, the Bus Driver ensures the safe and efficient transportation of students so they can fully participate in the district's academic and extracurricular programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a CDL with passenger, air brake, and all MDOT endorsements, including CDL-B with P and S endorsements.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Successful completion of all State-mandated drug and alcohol testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children.
  • Additional qualifications as determined by the Superintendent or designee.
  • Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee, in alignment with district goals and operational needs.
