Star Transportation is hiring experienced CDL shuttle drivers and passenger drivers for established courtesy routes in Rochester.
If you have experience as a shuttle driver, bus driver, transit driver, motorcoach driver, charter bus driver, airport shuttle driver, hotel shuttle driver, or other professional passenger driver, your experience may be a great fit for our team.
Our courtesy route drivers transport passengers between their home and the Downtown Rochester and the St. Mary's Campus. You'll operate an established local route with consistent Monday–Friday hours, automatic-transmission vehicles, professional passengers, and no overnight travel.
Current Openings
Morning Courtesy Route – Full-Time
Monday–Friday | 4:30 AM–11:00 AM
Start early and have your afternoons and evenings free.
Afternoon/Evening Courtesy Route – Full-Time
Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–9:30 PM
Keep your mornings free with a consistent afternoon/evening schedule.
Substitute CDL Passenger Driver – Part-Time / On-Call
Looking for something more flexible? We're also hiring experienced CDL passenger drivers to cover vacations, call-ins, and additional transportation needs. This can be a great opportunity for retired or semi-retired professional drivers who want to continue driving without committing to a full weekly schedule.
Pay: $23–$26/hour based on experience
Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and employee discounts.
Drivers interested in additional hours may also have opportunities for charter, corporate, and group transportation, including charter runs with built-in gratuities.

Job Responsibilities
As a CDL Passenger Driver with Star Transportation, you will:
- Safely operate commercial passenger vehicles on established routes and schedules
- Transport passengers between designated locations throughout Rochester
- Provide friendly, courteous, and professional customer service
- Assist passengers with boarding and luggage when necessary
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and professional passenger environment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations staff
- Maintain dependable and punctual route performance
- Professionally handle traffic, weather, schedule changes, and unexpected situations
- Represent Star Transportation and our customers in a professional manner

Qualifications
- Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Passenger (P) Endorsement
- One or more years of commercial driving experience
- Safe driving history meeting USDOT and company requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to meet all applicable DOT physical and driver qualification requirements
- Ability to pass required background screening
- Ability to participate in federally required DOT drug and alcohol testing (This includes testing for cannabis as allowed under federal law)
- Air Brake Endorsement is preferred but not required.
Our passenger vehicles have automatic transmissions.
Star Transportation is a DOT-regulated passenger carrier. Safety-sensitive CDL drivers are subject to applicable federal drug and alcohol testing requirements, including federally required marijuana/cannabis testing.
