BUS DRIVER TRAINEE

Application Statement

A person hired as a Bus Driver Trainee is paid $12.00 per hour for a short amount of time in order to get the training to make it possible to take the Bus Driver Test using a MISD school bus after receiving their P & S Endorsement to be able to drive students. The trainee position is NOT a full-time position and should not take more than 6 weeks to become a FT Bus Driver. If a person cannot pass all test to become a FT Bus Driver then employment will not be extended to a permanent position with the district.

• Are you related to a Marshall ISD Board Member or a Marshall ISD Employee/Administrator? If yes, please the individuals name below.
• Have you been previously employed by this district?
• Have you ever been placed on administrative leave with or without pay by a school district, or investigated by another school district?
• Have you ever been involuntarily terminated by an employer?
• Are you currently receiving benefits from Texas Retirement System?
• Are you retired with the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas?
• Have you EVER been convicted, placed on deferred adjudication or community supervision, or pled guilty or no contest (nolo contendre) to a felony or misdemeanor offense other than a minor traffic violation?
• Do you have any pending criminal charges?
• Are you currently serving a probationary period (such as parole, probation or deferred adjudication probation) for a felony or misdemeanor offense other than a minor traffic violation/ticket?
• Do you know any language other than English?
• If yes, which language?
• Do you currently hold a valid CDL license?
• If not, are you willing to obtain a CDL upon recommendation of hire?
• Are you legally authorized to work in the U.S.? (If hired, you will be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (Form I-9) and provide documentation of eligibility)

TESTS

Must have a CDL Class A or B and be able to pass the P & S Endorsement testing to then complete the bus driver part of the test to become a Bus Driver with all proper endorsements.
