The School Bus Driver is also responsible to operate buses in all types of weather conditions including but not limited to fog rain hail snow sleet and ice. Evergreen Public Schools encompasses 54 square miles.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDemonstrated ability to drive a school bus on scheduled routes in accordance with State and Federal regulations andor on all types of trips in support of district approved activities both within and outside the school district boundaries.Demonstrated ability to inspect and clean school buses and related equipment and provide necessary roadside services such as installing tire chains as required by State and District policy.Demonstrated ability to maintain control of student passengers as related to safety.Demonstrated ability to complete forms records and reports as required by the State or local school district policies.Must be able to perform basic first aid as appropriate including CPR.Must be able to participate in school bus driver training established by the State andor District.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to sit in the seat of the school bus for a minimum 3-hour time frame.Is physically able to maneuver and control a school bus under all driving conditions and Reference WAC 392-144-102Is physically able to perform daily routine school bus vehicle safety inspections and Reference WAC 392-144-102Has sufficient strength and agility to move about in a school bus as required to provide assistance to students in evacuating the bus. The driver must be able to move from a seated position in a sixty-five passenger school bus or the largest school bus the driver will be operating to the emergency door open the emergency door and exit the bus through the emergency door all within twenty-five seconds and Reference WAC 392-144-102Provide verification of holding a current and valid medical examiners certificate.
