Bus General Helper (Transportation and Public Works)

Minimum Qualifications

Eighth grade. Three months of experience with materials, methods and equipment used in automotive cleaning are required. Proof of education and work experience to meet minimum qualifications must be presented and will be verified.

Recruitment Notes

This position is responsible for a variety of cleaning and support tasks in transit bus maintenance facilities, fueling stations, and shop areas. Duties include sweeping, mopping, pressure washing, cleaning engines and components, disposing of oil and waste, and emptying dumpsters. The position operates forklifts, floor scrubbers, and other equipment to maintain a clean and safe work environment. They assist with moving boxes, organizing supplies, and picking up parts from vendors or storage.

Work is performed in a mechanic shop setting and may be assigned to any maintenance division, including Northeast, Central, Coral Way, or Homestead.
