Hertz is hiring an experienced Bus Mechanic / Diesel Technician to help keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve our customers. If you are a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing problems, performing quality repairs, and working in a fast-paced team environment, this is an opportunity to bring your skills to a respected industry leader. 

In this role, you will perform a wide range of bus maintenance and repair work, including diesel engine and transmission diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, air brake and suspension service, air conditioning service, oil changes, and general mechanical repairs. 

What You’ll Do:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain buses and diesel-powered fleet vehicles. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and complete repairs accurately and efficiently. 
  • Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, and air conditioning systems. 
  • Complete oil changes, brake service, system checks, and other routine maintenance tasks. 
  • Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively. 
  • Document work performed and communicate repair needs clearly with the team. 
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive shop environment. 

What We’re Looking For:
  • High school diploma or GED required; prior CMV driver work experience may be accepted in lieu of a diploma. 
  • At least 25 years of age. 
  • 3–5 years of bus repair, diesel technician, or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance experience. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. 
  • CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements required. 
  • Must have your own tools. 
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and flexible schedules as business needs require. 
  • ASE certification preferred.
