Revised 10/23/2019 VLC JOB TITLE: Bus Monitor STATUS: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation TERMS: 178 days DEPARTMENT: Transportation PAY GRADE: 302 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Ride buses and assist driver to provide safe and orderly transportation of student with disabilities. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow verbal instructions Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment Ability to work well with children with disabilities Experience: None MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Assist in loading and unloading of students with disabilities according to their individual needs.
2. Assist the bus driver with updating and maintaining bus route and student information.
3. Maintain discipline and report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
4. Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
5. Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis about student behavior while on the bus.
6. Accurate and consistent use of Time Clock Plus (TCP) and AESOP.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the director of transportation.
