Bus Stock Clerk (Transportation and Public Works)

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment or experience in the inventory of automotive, aircraft, or Diesel vehicle parts and supplies is required. Within three (3) months, must successfully pass the CDL/Class B General Knowledge Test. As a condition of continued employment, a CDL/Class B license with air-brake testing must be obtained within the one-year probationary period. Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays. The DTPW classification of Bus Stock Clerk performs safety-sensitive functions and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Regulations. Proof of education and work experience to meet minimum qualifications must be presented and will be verified.

This is technical and clerical work in the receipt, storage and issuance of bus parts, tools, materials, and supplies in a public transportation system. Employees in this class perform a variety of manual and clerical tasks in the receipt, storage, and issuance of bus parts and other materials and supplies in a public transportation system. Duties include verifying and documenting materials received, preparing correspondence, reports, and memoranda, issuing items in response to requisitions, monitoring stock, and assisting with physical inventories. Incumbents are required to move heavy material, lift boxes, and climb ladders, as necessary, and operate forklifts and drive trucks. Supervision is received from a senior supply official who reviews work for adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
