    Job Summary

    Overview of the job

    The Business System Analyst is accountable for delivering quality, comprehensive systems design, business requirements and business cases to the IT organization that will help to improve business efficiency and productivity once implemented.

    Candidate will work in a corporate environment collaborating with managers and staff and should have a good understanding of how to extract data into Microsoft Co-Pilot , Claude and UI Path in a safe and secure environment. Ability to build MCP servers. Ability to segregate User requests by Agentic AI or a Workflow. Nice to have - general understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as JDE, WMS - JDA/Blue Yonder, Oracle Demand Planning.

    Duties / Responsibilities

    • Business Requirements
    • Execute a standardized and structured methodology for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and prioritizing business requirements.
    • Conduct interviews, discovery workshops, and working sessions with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts to capture detailed technical and functional requirements.
    • Analyze existing business processes, system architectures, data flows, and integration points to identify gaps, dependencies, and optimization opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including process models, workflows, data dictionaries, requirements specifications, and change requests.
    • Perform data modeling, root‑cause analysis, and technical research to evaluate solution alternatives and define requirement specifications.
    • Translate business needs into highly detailed requirements packages, functional specifications, and project briefs consumable by technical teams.
    • Collaborate with business consultants to contribute to business cases, ROI analyses, and organizational justification documentation.
    • Define and document system operations, user interactions, workflow behavior, and data presentation layers, and present technical solutions for stakeholder approval.
    • Provide IT-driven input to support the creation of business justification materials, and technology recommendations.
    • Estimate and size enhancement efforts by partnering with architects, development teams, infrastructure, and support groups.
    1. Business Solutions Design
    • Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical, functional, and business suitability.
    • Create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
    • Architect specific proposals for modified or replacement systems.
    • Ensure applications are designed to support instrumentation objectives, rapid enhancement objectives and will provide superior user experiences.
    • Produce project feasibility reports.
    • Collaborate closely with Development, Technical, Functional, and business units to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
    • Discuss findings with the business unit and design an appropriate improved IT solution.
    • Present design proposals/solutions to clients.
    • Proactively identify solutions to address potential systems, design, or business process issues and present to both IT and business stakeholders.
    • Understand current system limitations, pain points, and identify technical and process solutions to address root causes of issues.
    1. Business Solutions Testing
    • Develop the testing schedule and plan for the solution.
    • Create business and application use cases.
    • Investigate new features of application and related technology before release, providing feedback to application development as appropriate.
    • Conduct standard systems testing and user-acceptance testing.
    • Ensure changes are properly tested, communicated, schedule and released to minimize any impact to the enterprise.

    1. User Training and Support Day to Day Operations
    • Develop user training manuals and other aids to streamline the uptake of the new system or changes.
    • Providing training to users of the new system or information on the enhancements/features introduced.

    • Coordinate the work efforts, scheduling, and prioritization for cross-team resources.
    • Effectively transition knowledge to other members of the team to help grow the organization.
    • Train and mentor other team members in team standards, processes, and methodologies as appropriate.
    • Support the professional development of other team members.
    • Identify relevant training needs for the IT organization.
    • Provide input into the scheduled performance review process.
    • Suggest and lead areas for improvement in internal processes as appropriate.
    • Provide input into the decision-making process for the team.
    • Function as point person on behalf of the team and gain the trust and confidence of other team members as appropriate.
    1. Additional Responsibilities
    • Accountable for properly following all IT standards, processes, and methodologies as applicable including but not limited to Quality Assurance (QA), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), and Change Management (ITIL).
    • Other responsibilities and accountabilities may be assigned based on business and organization needs.

    Travel Expectations

    • Regular travel requirements (<10%)

    Qualifications & Experience

    Education/Certification

    • Two-year college required or applicable trade school or commensurate work experience, four-year college preferred.

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Working knowledge of Agentic AI and Workflow related system design and test experience in both a developer and functional role with some related leadership experience.
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems and processes like Finance, Sales, Procurement and Inventory
    • Working knowledge on building MCP servers and ability to get the data into AI Agents.
    • Ability to understand, communicate, and interpret client business processes and requirements.
    • Ability to configure and test with the users.
    • Good to excellent verbal and written communications skills.
