The Role

Analyze, program, configure, test and implement cloud or on-premise software applications in support of business objectives. May be responsible for part of or all aspects of the application/system life cycle as it relates to citizen development, including coordination with user groups to identify solutions that improve business processes, implementing changes, training, other user-focused activities and prepares specifications. Works with the enterprise software development organization as a citizen developer to plan, manage and implement the installation of application/system upgrades, integrations and overall maintenance of system changes. Align the organization's IT infrastructure with business processes/data to improve the efficiency & productivity of operations and research/recommend changes in application/system environment through internal customization and identify opportunities for increased productivity cost reduction. Develop programming scripts to automate functionality of business applications and conduct user training as necessary.

Must Have

Bachelors Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelors Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associates Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelors Degree.

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrates basic proficiency in Microsoft products and tools, and applicable programming languages. (Examples; Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Access)
  • Understands basic software delivery lifecycle and how solutions connect to business processes.
  • Designs and builds basic solutions, setting up and configuring simple features and functionalities. (Examples; Microsoft tools, solutions, workflows)
  • Supports maintenance of existing tools and documentation.
  • Follows documented procedures and adheres to NNS coding standards.
  • Troubleshooting common tools/user issues.
  • Communicates effectively with team members/customers and seek clarity when needed.
  • Ability to learn cross-functional product integrations and customizations that support X55 solutions. (Examples; PowerBi, BizTalk, ShareGate, KwizCom, SQL)
  • Participates in user testing and gather feedback with guidance.
  • Assists lead programmers in routine peer reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and customer collaboration.
