Key Responsibilities: The Busbar Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and monitoring a Vaski Busbar Machine to fabricate copper and aluminum busbars according to engineering specifications and production schedules. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to maintain efficient production while adhering to all safety standards. - Operate the Vaski Busbar Machine to cut, punch, bend, and process busbars according to drawings and work instructions.
- Load raw materials into the machine and unload finished products safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and production documentation.
- Verify dimensions and quality of finished parts using measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, squares, and gauges.
- Perform routine machine setup, tool changes, and program selection as required.
- Monitor machine performance during operation and make minor adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Inspect finished busbars for dimensional accuracy, appearance, and workmanship.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, tooling issues, or quality concerns to supervision or maintenance.
- Complete production, quality, and inventory documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S and company housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with material handling and other production duties as assigned.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Experience operating CNC or automated fabrication equipment is a plus.
- Experience with busbar manufacturing or electrical component fabrication is preferred but not required.
Experience: - Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining production goals.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 10-hour shift.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, and grasp.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery and measuring equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions - Manufacturing production environment.
- Regular exposure to machinery, metal materials, and industrial noise.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
