Overview
Microsoft is seeking Business Administrators to support various leaders across the company. The successful candidate thrives working both independently and collaboratively, brings proven organizational and communication skills, and can effectively manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to enabling team success. This role will serve as a leader within the business administrator community, actively support org-wide initiatives, and provide backup support as needed. A team‑first mindset and willingness to step in where required are essential.

Responsibilities
Calendar Management and Meeting Logistics
- May support calendar management for community spaces as needed, based on direction from others. Helps to prepare meeting setting (e.g., booking rooms, troubleshooting virtual settings, providing food). Learns to manage ambiguous situations, with direct guidance from colleagues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication
- Learns to collaborate internally with lead admins while gaining knowledge from peers and managers. Begins to understand how to build a network. Learns to take direction and prioritize multiple requests from admins, teammates and managers.
Discipline Growth and Development
- Learns to understand their organizations culture and business admin charter. Participates in the Business Support community. Engages within the community and attends networking events, trainings, etc. Shadows others and learns from others.
Event Coordination and Logistics
- Supports team experience activities as needed. Assists team with execution of event logistics (e.g., set up, tear down, catering arrangements) under the direction of colleagues. Supports team morale and building team dynamics.
Project Ownership
- Provides onsite team support and carries out tasks under direction of others. Learns to take accountability for their components of assigned project outcomes. Seeks to ask questions and share ideas related to projects.
Resource Management (Hardware/Supply Management, Purchase/Expense Management Financial Management)
- Proactively manages supply inventories (e.g., store room, hardware, office supplies, snacks) as needed. Begins learning discretionary budgeting and company finance policies. Relies on guidance from colleagues.
Space Management and Planning This responsibility is dependent on location.
- Assists with team space move logistics as necessary.
Team Management Support (Headcount Management, Recruitment, Onboarding/Offboarding)
- Helps to provides onboarding support for new employees, vendors, and interns, under the direction of team members (e.g., ordering new hire equipment, setting up workstations, distribution lists, security groups).
Travel Management
- May begin to shadow and learns travel tools and policies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent AND 6 months Administrative, Business Support, and/or customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year(s) administrative, business support, or customer service experience in an environment with an emphasis on scheduling meetings/events, travel management, and basic administration work.
- Associates Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources [HR], Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Sociology)
- OR equivalent experience.
Business Support ATR-B - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $23.03 - $37.26 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $29.71 - $43.08 per hour.
