Business Analyst
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: Approximately 35–40 hours per week
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support project coordination, process improvement, business analysis, and data analysis initiatives within a large and complex organizational environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Power BI, process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and business process documentation. Experience supporting HR, operations, transformation, or shared services teams is highly desirable.
The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders at various levels of the organization to analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, document requirements, develop reporting solutions, and support project and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support business analysis, project coordination, and process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze business processes, workflows, data, and operational requirements.
- Develop and document As-Is and To-Be process flows.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Document key business and process requirements.
- Gather information from stakeholders and translate business needs into actionable requirements.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Excel and Power BI.
- Perform data cleaning, analysis, validation, and reconciliation.
- Use Excel features such as PivotTables, lookup functions, formulas, and data-cleaning techniques.
- Create and maintain SharePoint sites, document libraries, and access controls.
- Organize and manage Teams channels, files, and collaboration resources.
- Support document management and collaboration using OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
- Develop presentations and executive-ready materials using PowerPoint.
- Coordinate project activities, tasks, meetings, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Work with HR, operations, transformation, and shared services teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide analytical and problem-solving support for business and operational challenges.
- Assist with project planning, tracking, and status reporting.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Produce clear technical and business documentation and sample work when required.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in roles involving:

- Demonstrated experience working within large, complex, or matrixed organizations.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, including:
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- OneDrive
- Excel
- Power BI
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including:
- PivotTables
- Lookup functions
- Data cleaning
- Data analysis
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dashboards and data visualization.
- Experience with process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and time-management skills.
- Experience working with HR, operations, transformation, or shared services teams.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Workday, ERP, or HRIS systems.
- Exposure to project and task management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
