Job Description: The ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist supports the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) by assisting the organization with ADA Compliance for web sites, web and mobile applications/content, online forms and documents to meet or exceed the Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related to Digital Accessibility.
This is a hands-on role which will be responsible for the discovery and remediation of current digital accessibility issues. This role will also be responsible for creating internal workflows and trainings to establish DFI’s ongoing compliance with digital accessibility requirements. The incumbent will be expected to lead these efforts based on extensive knowledge of ADA digital accessibility requirements, associated technology, and organizational change management.
The ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist creates, updates and develops accessibility content, testing processes and procedures for specific internal groups to improve teamwork, efficiency and will be expected to educate and provide staff with technical support in creating accessible web sites and content, conventional documents, data dashboards, web applications, videos and other digital information that is created by DFI. The ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist will assist individuals and teams in using tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro, WAVE, Lighthouse, Color Contrast Analyzer, NVDA Screen Reader, Microsoft accessibility checkers and manual keyboard navigation techniques to ensure that people using assistive technology are able to access our programs, services and activities while following federal and state guidelines for accessibility.
