POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Business Analyst leads the responsible and strategic exploration, evaluation, and governance of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies across the Ada County Clerk's Office. The analyst monitors the changing needs of business operations and is able to assess the impact of those changes. The incumbent focuses on the effective use of resources of both people and technology. The incumbent performs reviews, assessments, and the development of Clerk's Office business processes and makes recommendations for technology initiatives as well as the development, analysis, and execution of related policy.
Positioned within the Administration Division, this role supports cross-functional operations including Elections, Courts, Community Programs, Auditor, and Recorder functions as well as acting as a liaison with other County departments and external stakeholders.
This position does not perform technical system implementation, but instead focuses on identifying opportunities, guiding responsible use, supporting staff adoption, and ensuring all emerging technology related efforts align with legal requirements, data privacy standards, and the Clerk's Office commitment to accuracy, transparency, and public trust.
This role supports the Clerk's mission to serve and build trust. The Business Analyst is expected to demonstrate kindness, be joyful, support innovation, communicate transparently, and remain focused on work that supports the Court's core responsibilities and service to the community and our team.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:This position is given a high degree of latitude to exercise independent discretion and judgment. At this level, analysis is complex due to variations within the organization, operations, and systems processes. In addition, the actions and decisions made by this position will impact the decisions made by the Clerk of Court.
