Job description

W2 role: the rate reflects a W2 engagement

Location: Hybrid 4 days/week in Torrance, CA

The Business Analyst supports our goals to improve customer and dealer experiences by enhancing systems, processes, and digital capabilities. This role reports into the Digital Marketing division and partners closely with business stakeholders and IT partners to analyze needs, define requirements, and support the delivery, ongoing optimization, and stability of enterprise digital applications.

In this role, the Business Analyst will primarily support DreamShop, AHM’s enterprise ecommerce platform, with a strong focus on dealer experience, including dealer enrollment, post-onboarding support, order management processes, and dealer-related enhancements. The role also contributes to production support, reporting and dashboards, testing support for major website initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across supported applications.

As a member of an Agile Product Team, the Business Analyst works collaboratively to translate business needs into clear requirements, support solution delivery, and ensure systems continue to deliver value. While initially aligned to DreamShop, this role is intended to be flexible and capable of supporting additional applications and initiatives over time as business needs evolve.

This role follows an onsite model (4 days in the office, 1 day remote) and will be based in Torrance, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

Product and Platform Support
• Support the ongoing enhancement and stability of a primary digital product (DreamShop), with emphasis on dealer-facing capabilities.
• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements using appropriate artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, QA, and business stakeholders throughout design, build, and release activities.
• Support production operations, including incident analysis, defect triage, and coordination of resolution activities.

Continuous Improvement and Value Delivery
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, system functionality, and user experience based on feedback, data, and observed trends.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for supported applications and related business processes.
• Support delivery of enhancements that improve dealer and internal user experience, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Assist with evaluation of new ideas and initiatives to ensure alignment with business goals and platform capabilities.

Testing, Reporting, and Enablement
• Lead or support user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and release validation activities.
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards to support operational needs and decision-making.
• Support change management activities including business communications, user documentation, and dealer training materials.
• Assist with consumer site testing efforts for major initiatives, as needed

Collaboration and Stakeholder Support
• Act as a point of contact for questions, issues, and follow-ups from business partners, including internal teams and dealers.
• Ensure alignment and smooth coordination across multiple teams and vendors.
• Clearly communicate requirements, impacts, and status updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience with relevant training.
• 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role supporting digital applications.
• Experience working within Agile or iterative delivery environments.
• Experience supporting production systems, including incident management and post-release support.
• Familiarity with ecommerce, auto dealer-facing, or customer-facing platforms preferred.
• Experience gathering requirements and working closely with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar requirements and backlog management systems.
• Experience in automotive, retail, or dealer-based business models is a plus.

Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Comfortable providing hands-on support in a live production environment.
• Customer- and user-focused mindset with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Adaptable and capable of learning new systems, platforms, and business domains over time.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across business, IT, and vendor teams.
