Position: Business Analyst - SAP EWM/WM Level: Deputy Department Manager Work Location: Bangkok (SM Tower Building), Monday - Friday: Onsite Job Purpose The Business Analyst - SAP EWM/WM is responsible for bridging business operational needs with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Warehouse Management (WM) solutions. This role plays a crucial part in analyzing supply chain and warehouse processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and translating warehouse-related business requirements into actionable functional specifications to drive successful system enhancements and project delivery.
Job Responsibilities
Requirements Elicitation and Documentation • Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and supply chain stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document EWM/WM-related business requirements. • Conduct interviews, workshops, and on-site observations at warehouse facilities to understand operational needs. • Translate business goals into detailed functional and technical requirements specific to SAP EWM/WM processes. • Create comprehensive functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and configuration documents.
Business Process Analysis (Warehouse & Logistics Focus) • Analyze current warehouse operations, inventory flows, inbound/outbound processes, and internal movements to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities. • Document AS-IS and TO-BE warehouse processes using BPMN or other structured methods. • Collaborate with warehouse managers and process owners to design improved workflows aligned with SAP EWM/WM capabilities.
Solution Design & System Configuration Support • Work with SAP technical teams to design solutions that address business requirements in EWM/WM modules. • Support configuration activities such as storage types, warehouse structure, inbound/outbound processes, picking strategies, and physical inventory. • Ensure solutions comply with best practices and company standards.
Data Analysis and Reporting • Analyze operational and inventory data to support optimization initiatives and decision-making. • Collaborate with BI/reporting teams to develop dashboards and reports for warehouse KPIs, productivity, and material movement trends.
Solution Evaluation & Recommendation • Evaluate EWM/WM functional enhancement options and new logistics technologies (e.g., barcode/RFID, automation systems). • Recommend solutions based on impact assessment, ROI, and business alignment. • Ensure technical feasibility and integration compatibility with SAP and non-SAP systems.
Change Management & Stakeholder Communication • Act as the focal point between business and IT teams regarding EWM/WM-related changes. • Manage change requests and keep stakeholders updated on progress, risks, and impacts. • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and decision-making sessions with warehouse and logistics teams. • Support change management planning for warehouse operations.
Testing & Quality Assurance • Create test scenarios and test cases specific to warehouse processes (e.g., inbound, outbound, picking, packing, replenishment). • Participate in integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). • Validate that system enhancements meet business requirements and operational readiness.
Documentation & Training • Develop user manuals, process documentation, training materials, and SOPs for warehouse system users. • Conduct training sessions for warehouse operators, supervisors, and stakeholders. • Ensure end-user competency for new functionalities and processes.
Education / Training Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. SAP EWM/WM certification or formal training is an advantage. Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA, etc.) are a plus.
