Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business/Data Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting compliance testing, data analysis, and reporting efforts across multiple business units. This role blends regulatory controls testing with data analysis to ensure data integrity, compliance, and effective communication across stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and skilled at translating complex data into actionable insights.Key Responsibilities:
Controls Testing & Compliance (30%):- Conduct internal controls testing related to compliance with regulations and policies.
- Assess design and operating effectiveness of controls related to MBS trust agreements and supervisory guidance.
- Lead inquiry meetings with control owners and document findings in MetricStream.
- Select test samples, collect evidence, and track remediation of issues.
- Review policies, procedures, and job aids for control validation.
Data Analysis & Reporting (70%):- Partner with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Business Units to analyze and troubleshoot datasets.
- Write and run SQL queries to reconcile, validate, and ensure accuracy of data.
- Work with data governance teams, data dictionaries, and data registries.
- Conduct analysis on data pulled from the underwriting data warehouse and format it for business use.
- Develop non-technical reports to identify and communicate issues and trends.
- Respond to ad hoc data inquiries from internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Understand the connection between data and reporting outcomes, ensuring insights align with business objectives.
Required Skills & Experience:- 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or similar roles.
- Proven experience in controls testing, compliance, audit, or operational risk.
- Strong proficiency in SQL – particularly for reconciliations and data validation.
- Experience working with data governance tools and concepts.
- Exposure to AWS (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:- Knowledge of mortgage or financial data.
- Familiarity with MetricStream or similar GRC platforms.
- Experience working in dynamic, cross-functional teams.
- Industry certifications such as CCEP, PMP, CIA, or CISA.
Education:- Bachelor's degree required
