Overview & Purpose: Responsible for performing technical analysis and process optimization to solve business problems using advanced methods. This role contributes to operational goals by influencing district decision-making and ensuring that systems are not only maintained but continuously improved for efficiency.
Primary Objective: To analyze business units to define their process and system needs, and to recommend solutions that deliver value via the full project lifecycle. This role focuses on Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), identifying and addressing the impacts of change on people, processes, and technology to ensure the district operates at maximum efficacy.

What You'll Do:
Process Improvement & Analysis
Workflow Optimization: Identify and eliminate "waste" (redundant steps or bottlenecks) within existing IT and business workflows.
Critical Analysis: Research and apply analytical methods to solve complex problems and enhance the efficacy of district programs and processes.
Gap Analysis: Facilitate "As-Is" vs. "To-Be" sessions to define the delta between current capabilities and desired future states.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate and resolve business or technical issues by identifying underlying causes rather than just addressing symptoms.
Performance Metrics: Create metrics, examine data, and interpret findings to extract insights that reveal areas for operational improvement.
Technical Systems & Data Integrity
Data Stewardship: Improve data storage practices to optimize the extraction, analysis, and delivery of content.
Data Maintenance: Handle data collection, document queries, and audit/clean data to ensure high integrity.
Infrastructure Validation: Setup and validate that infrastructure complies with established processes and guidelines.
System Administration: Support recurring efforts such as school year rollouts, SIS upgrades, and platform updates.
Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery
- Discovery & Intake: Serve as the initial point of contact for intake requests and conduct comprehensive business discovery.
- Requirements Translation: Document and translate business needs into features, stories, and tasks for cross-functional teams.
- Agile Collaboration: Participate in agile-based solution implementations as part of cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Maintain proactive communication with key internal and external stakeholders through dashboards and visualizations.
- Mentorship: Work closely with functional experts and provide mentorship to catalyze collaboration across teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
- IT Foundations: Basic knowledge of web applications, SaaS platforms, and a baseline understanding of software features/functionality.
- Documentation Tools: Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools for user stories and task tracking.
- Process Mapping: Required: Skill in using mapping tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio) to visualize complex value streams and workflows.
- Analytical Thinking: Skill in analytical thinking to assess IT processes and propose technical or structural improvements.
- Methodologies: Required: Experience with Agile methodologies. Preferred: Foundational knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles.
- Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; willingness to learn and grow in the role.
- Technical Proficiency: Preferred: Skill in Google Workspace, Gherkin requirements writing, and data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, or Power BI.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's or relevant work experience
- Area of expertise Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or IT support role.
- Experience specifically within a Process Improvement or Operations Management capacity.
