Position Description
The Business Systems Analyst Senior/Lead acts s the liaison between management, users, and technical professionals.
The Business Systems Analyst Senior/Lead position provides functional analysis of judicial and business processes used to conduct operations and is responsible for the identification, development, and recommendation of business process changes and improvements.
Positions at this level are responsible for more complex assignments that require considerable independent discretion and judgment and lead professional-level staff.

Relate on the appropriate level to business staff, technical staff, and end users
Lead small and medium-scale projects
Think critically and analyze data to recommend creative solutions to business problems.
Experience Required
Experience:
Three (3) years of business analyst experience or experience working with data and creating reports from data sets OR Combined education and experience qualifications:
Other combinations of education and/or experience may be considered in substitution for minimum qualifications.

Mentor and lead business analysts to guide and oversee their assigned projects.
Gather user requirements and write user stories
Communicate with high-level customers
Coordinate, meet, and collaborate with management and system users to understand and evaluate judicial or business processes.
Gather requirements for functionality, create epics and user stories, and analyze the impact of changes
Provide suggestions to the development team during the development stage of the product to meet the clients business needs.
Independently conduct judicial or business process analysis and needs assessments and provide corresponding recommendations for process and/or system changes.
Troubleshoot problems as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations, and recommend solutions.
Analyze the feasibility of and develop requirements for new systems or enhancements to existing systems to ensure the system design fits the needs of the users.
Manage change requests and backlog items related to project plans to meet deadlines; assist with overseeing the driving projects to completion within the agreed-upon time and budget.
As needed, work closely with programming and systems employee groups to develop, test, and implement solutions or system modifications.
Gather and format information to create reports for management or other purposes as needed.
Develop, administer, and publish an open list of projects, problems, and assigned tasks.
Use and specify tools to create project diagrams, flowcharts, and written specifications, including wireframe design.
Participate in or provide end-user training, interpreting, and translating functional technical terms to make them understandable to the end user.
This position may provide technical assistance to system users.
Education Required
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Public Administration, Computer Science, or an IT or Social Science related field
