Business Analyst

In this position you will....

…lead customer-facing technology engagements for the Japan market, ensuring alignment with local business priorities and strategic growth initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will work closely with the North Asia Tech Squad Lead and the General Manager, Japan to support key customers, partners, and business development activities. As the technical representative for Japan, you will serve as the primary liaison between customers, business stakeholders, and regional engineering teams, ensuring successful delivery of bolttech's solutions and a high-quality customer experience throughout the engagement lifecycle.

You will be responsible for…

• Acting as the primary Technology point of contact (SPOC) for Japan across internal stakeholders, customers, partners, and vendors, ensuring effective communication and coordination between local business teams and regional engineering teams.
• Partnering closely with the Japan Business Development team throughout the entire business lifecycle, including pre-sales discussions, solution design, customer meetings, technical consultations, partner onboarding, implementation planning, and post-launch operational support.
• Translating business and customer requirements into scalable technical solutions by collaborating with regional engineering teams, while balancing technical excellence, delivery speed, and local market priorities.
• Work closely with internal Group Product team and Tech team to prepare system specification documents for the client in local language.
• Supporting proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilot projects, and new business initiatives by providing technical leadership to accelerate customer onboarding and commercial opportunities in Japan.
• Leading service operations for the Japan market by continuously reviewing support processes, identifying service gaps, driving operational improvements, and coordinating incident resolution with regional technology teams to minimize business impact.
• Participating in customer-facing meetings as the technical representative, providing technical guidance during business development activities, implementation projects, and strategic partnership discussions.
• Maintaining strong knowledge of bolttech's Technology Services, platform capabilities, APIs, and upcoming product releases, while proactively identifying opportunities to expand technology adoption within the Japan market.
• Preparing service performance reports, operational health updates, incident analyses, and other technical reports required by local business leadership and regional management.

You will require the following qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Technology Leadership, Technical Consulting, Solutions Architecture, or IT Service Delivery.
• Proven experience partnering with Business Development teams and supporting customers and strategic partners in the Japan market.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Computing, Enterprise Applications, API Integration, and IT Service Management.
• Solid technical knowledge of modern technology stacks such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, React, Vue.js, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, with the ability to work effectively alongside engineering teams.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with regional or cross-functional engineering teams.
• Demonstrated client-facing experience, including technical presentations, solution consulting, customer workshops, implementation projects, and partner onboarding.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across local and regional stakeholders.
• Strong project management, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Following qualifications and skills are preferred

• Strong domain knowledge or experience in the Automotive industry, particularly in vehicle sales, dealership networks, mobility ecosystems, or customer engagement platforms, is highly desirable.
• Experience in Travel, Real Estate, Financial Services, Retail, or other customer-facing industries is an advantage.
• Experience with embedded insurance, digital insurance distribution, sales enablement platforms, partner ecosystems, or other platform-based business models is highly desirable.
• ITSM, Cloud, Agile, or other relevant technical certifications are considered an advantage.
