Job Summary
The Business Analyst (Revenue Cycle HC Analyst 3) reports to the Director of Business Operations of the Heart & Vascular Center and is responsible for data analytics reporting of all fiscal and business-related functions of Heart & Vascular Center (HVC). This position provides support and monitors all fiscal and business-related operations across the HVC departments.
The primary functions include analysis, system/process development, problem resolution and workflow oversight. Specifically performs analysis and problem solving of issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. Provides detailed analysis and reporting of contract payer performance to include payment trends, denials, delinquencies and payment variances from expected reimbursement. Identifies and tracks issues related to denials through use of Denial Management to maximize revenue and increase efficiency. Works with internal and external departments to formulate strategies and administer policies, processes, and resources. Ensures account information contains accurate and comprehensive data to provide timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. Reviews processes including authorization, registration, charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, billing, contract management, payment posting, refund processing, and collections. Acts as the department liaison for Contract Management system development and operation.
This position requires an intermediate level of operations and contract knowledge, organizational and priority setting abilities, a solid understanding of the overall field, the ability to work independently on low to moderately complex issues, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of workflows and systems in revenue cycle program areas to identify weaknesses and develop innovative solutions and process improvements using sound judgment. Functions with a high degree of autonomy on low to moderately complex issues/tasks and seeks guidance on more complex assignments. #CA-SB
