Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong SharePoint expertise to support an enterprise-wide migration of files currently stored on network file shares to Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint Online.
The Business Analyst will assess business and application impacts, conduct requirements gathering across multiple business units, document existing processes and use cases, and determine SharePoint models that meet business, functional, security, and governance requirements.
This engagement is expected to run for approximately 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear, concise, and thorough analysis using appropriate artifacts, including:
Use cases
Application inventories
Application functions accessing network drives
SharePoint models
Analyze network shares, security groups, and user permissions.
Review project artifacts before conducting business-unit interviews.
Develop and distribute interview topics and questions in advance of each session.
Conduct structured interviews with subject matter experts to identify current processes and use cases involving user and shared network drives.
Document stakeholder interviews, obtain feedback, and compile relevant business requirements and processes.
Schedule and facilitate requirements reviews, design meetings, and project status meetings.
Participate in reviews of proposed use cases and requirements with project team members.
Explain proposed functionality, identify problem areas, gather feedback, revise design artifacts, and obtain necessary approvals.
Create and maintain project artifacts within a SharePoint site.
Participate in the development of proposed SharePoint solutions and provide rationale for each solution.
Propose a high-level SharePoint security group model and coordinate with the appropriate security/CISO stakeholders.
Identify and document applications accessing network shares for both read and write operations.
Document staff use cases associated with information stored on network shares.
Assist with development of an enterprise architecture for SharePoint sites used for file storage.
Review and update SharePoint governance documentation.
Participate in senior management briefings regarding findings, recommendations, and proposed SharePoint models.
Utilize Jira to document user stories, use cases, tasks, and related project information.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online, with demonstrable hands-on experience.
At least 2 years of SharePoint experience in an enterprise environment.
Experience migrating files from network shared drives to SharePoint.
Advanced analytical, information-processing, and technical skills across system analysis, business analysis, and business process modeling.
3–5 years of experience gathering, developing, and documenting business requirements.
3–5 years of experience developing and maintaining design artifacts, including:
Use cases
Business process models
Requirements documents
SharePoint models
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
Proven ability to identify and formalize business needs and translate them into use cases and requirements.
Strong customer-service and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to prioritize work and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Extensive experience working in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive situations.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.

SharePoint security and permissions modeling.
Experience working with security/CISO teams.
Experience with Jira for requirements and Agile project tracking.
