Business Application Manager

TRC's partner, a leading advanced manufacturing organization, has an opportunity for a Business Application Manager - D365 F&SCM to join their team. This role is ideal for a manufacturing-focused D365 professional who understands how ERP systems support real-world production environments. The company is live on D365 and is seeking an experienced functional leader to help optimize manufacturing operations, improve processes, and maximize system capabilities across the business.

This position will work closely with operations, supply chain, production, warehousing, and IT stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in manufacturing processes including MRP, BOMs, routings, production control, and shop floor operations within Dynamics 365 environments.

Summary

The Business Application Manager will serve as the functional lead and subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM, partnering with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external implementation partners to improve manufacturing processes and system utilization. This role focuses heavily on manufacturing operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement rather than finance ownership or software development.

Responsibilities
Serve as the functional subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM and related business applications.
Lead ongoing optimization of manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, warehouse, and production processes.
Evaluate current business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and system utilization.
Partner with operations, supply chain, production, and business leaders to define requirements and implement solutions.
Drive improvements related to MRP, master planning, BOMs, routings, production control, and shop floor execution.
Conduct gap analyses between business requirements and system capabilities and recommend process enhancements.
Coordinate with external consultants and implementation partners to deliver application enhancements and upgrades.
Support annual system upgrades and ensure continued application performance and stability.
Lead change management initiatives including user training, documentation, and process adoption efforts.
Manage application security roles, reporting capabilities, and overall system governance.
Monitor post-implementation performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain process documentation, business requirements, and project deliverables.
Support business users through first and second-level application support while coordinating third-level vendor support activities.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
7+ years of experience supporting Microsoft ERP platforms, including Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics 365 F&SCM.
Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing operations within D365 environments.
Expertise in Production Control, Master Planning/MRP, BOM management, routings, inventory management, and warehouse processes.
Experience supporting discrete manufacturing environments; industrial, electronics, engineered products, or similar manufacturing backgrounds preferred.
Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and lead ERP optimization initiatives.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system solutions.
Knowledge of application security, access controls, and ERP governance.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience with Power Platform, Power BI, DevOps, D365 CE, or Azure integrations is a plus.
Relevant Microsoft Dynamics certifications preferred.
