This strategic role serves as the critical bridge between business strategy and enterprise execution, ensuring alignment across capabilities, value streams, operating models, and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in business architecture, capability modeling, value stream mapping, and enterprise transformation, along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making across complex organizations. Location: Buffalo, NY (Preferred) / Remote (Travel to Buffalo, NY every 4-6 weeks with Monday through Thursday in-office; travel expenses reimbursed) Duration: 6 months Key Responsibilities Translate business strategy into business capability, value stream, and initiative roadmaps. Develop and maintain business architecture artifacts including capability maps, value streams, and operating models. Define current-state and target-state business architecture models. Identify capability gaps and recommend investment priorities based on business value. Support portfolio planning, business case development, and initiative prioritization. Assess business processes, organizational structures, and systems for alignment and efficiency. Partner with executive leadership, product teams, enterprise architects, and delivery teams. Establish business architecture standards, governance practices, and frameworks. Ensure traceability from strategic objectives through execution and measurable outcomes. Collaborate with Enterprise, Solution, and Data Architects to align business and technology strategies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in business architecture, strategy, consulting, enterprise transformation, or related disciplines. Demonstrated experience creating: Business capability maps Value stream models Operating models Strategic roadmaps Gap analyses and capability assessments Strong knowledge of: Business architecture methodologies Capability modeling Value stream mapping Operating model design Enterprise analysis Portfolio management and investment prioritization Excellent executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field. Financial services or banking industry experience. Knowledge of Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK) methodologies and practices. Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks. Certified Business Architect (CBA) certification. TOGAF certification or equivalent Enterprise Architecture credential. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $51.67 to $86.11 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
