As a Business Architect, you'll play a key role in shaping how North Yorkshire Council delivers services for residents, businesses and communities. Drawing on your expertise in business architecture, organisational design and transformation, you will help define the future capabilities, operating models and strategic direction needed to support one of the largest and most ambitious councils in the country.

Working within our Enterprise Architecture function, you'll influence major business and technology investments, helping ensure that change programmes deliver meaningful outcomes and maximum value. You will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, architects, business analysts and service leaders to develop future-focused business capabilities that support the Council's strategic objectives.

Job Summary

We are currently looking to recruit a Business Architect to support the development and evolution of the Council's business architecture capability.

As a Business Architect, you will be responsible for analysing business strategy, identifying future capability requirements and developing business architecture artefacts that provide clear direction for organisational change. You will work across services and directorates to understand business needs, support the development of strategic objectives and ensure that investment decisions align with the Council's long-term priorities.

You will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Technical Architects, Business Change Analysts and senior stakeholders to develop business capability models, target operating models and strategic roadmaps. The role will involve leading architecture work packages, supporting transformation programmes and providing expert business architecture advice across a diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives.

You will also play an important role in developing and embedding business architecture governance, standards and best practice, whilst mentoring colleagues and supporting the growth of architectural capability across Technology Services.

 

Experience / Qualifications

Experience

  •        In depth understanding of business architecture, enterprise architecture and organisational change gained through experience delivering strategic transformation initiatives.
  •        Strong experience of business modelling techniques, including business capabilities, business processes and target operating models.
  •        Knowledge of business and systems analysis methods and tools such as BPMN, LEAN and UML.
  •        Experience of developing strategic roadmaps and business architecture deliverables that guide organisational change and investment decisions.
  •        Experience of working with senior stakeholders across large and complex organisations to influence decision making and deliver business outcomes.
