Position Information

Description & Details:

The Business Coordinator is responsible for financial, budgetary, and human resource responsibilities within an academic or administrative unit. The role provides support throughout the unit they serve at the direction of the Business Manager. The role is customer-facing and responsible for providing business operations support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, NDSU, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 12-month

Hiring Range: $52,000-$55,000

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or; Associates degree with 3+ years direct experience or; 5+ years direct experience within a higher education setting that provides the incumbent with the knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the job

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Major Field of Study or Degree Emphasis: Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • PeopleSoft/Oracle experience
  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge of policies and regulations of grant sponsored accounting and/or federally funded programs
  • 3-5+ years of progressively related financial/budget management experience in a complex organization

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to use data to make comparisons, perform verification and reconciliations, and compile reports
  • Experience with accounting principles, processes, and budget management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex computerized accounting and human resources systems
  • Strong analytical and analysis skills and the ability to communicate using data
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional level of customer services to a broad variety of contacts and build strong positive working relationships across the organization
  • Knowledge of policies and regulations of GAAP and financial related policies, rules and regulations.
  • Computer skills (ability to use spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc). Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience is required
