IDR is seeking a Business Data Analyst to join one of our top clients for an on-site opportunity in Austin, TX. This role involves analyzing complex data in a large enterprise environment, working closely with business stakeholders to support data governance and reporting initiatives, and ensuring requirements are accurately documented throughout the SDLC process.
Position Overview for the Business Data Analyst:
- Perform requirements elicitation, business process analysis, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and data validation in a government or large enterprise setting.
- Document business requirement documents, functional requirements, data dictionaries, KPIs, and data lineage while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Support data governance, gap analysis, UAT, and enterprise reporting/analytics initiatives.
- Utilize strong SQL skills for data analysis, ad hoc investigations, and validation.
- Facilitate communication with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical documentation.
Requirements for the Business Data Analyst:
- Strong experience as a Business/Data Analyst performing requirements elicitation, business process analysis, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, data validation, and complex SQL analysis.
- Proven ability to document BRDs, functional requirements, business rules, KPIs, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
- Experience supporting data governance, gap analysis, UAT, and enterprise reporting/analytics.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in large enterprise or government environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
