POSITION: Business Development Manager DIVISION:Commercial (COM) REPORTS TO:Region Leadership FLSA STATUS:Exempt ABOUT THE ROLE As a Business Developer, youll be responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing commercial landscape maintenance opportunities. This role is highly relationship-focused, requiring proactive outreach, strong communication, and a strategic approach to building a consistent sales pipeline. Youll meet with prospective clients, develop customized proposals, and partner closely with operations to ensure a smooth transition from sale to service. Your success in this role will directly impact the companys growth and long-term client relationships. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prospect, qualify, and close new commercial landscape maintenance contracts in the designated area.Conduct a minimum of 5 new appointments per week with prospective commercial property clients.Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and territory planning.Deliver compelling, customized proposals tailored to each prospects property and service needs,Partner with operations to ensure seamless onboarding and client satisfaction from contract signing forward.Maintain accurate records of sales activity, appointments, and pipeline in company systems.Track competitive market intelligence including pricing, services, and industry trends.Submit weekly activity reports, monthly territory analyses, and forecasts to management. ABOUT YOU Qualifications Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent experience in related fields are consideredProven track record in outside B2B sales, landscape, facilities, property services, or related industries preferredProficient with CRM systems and standard business softwareValid drivers license with clean driving record required Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Hunter mentality: motivated by new business, comfortable with cold outreach and persistent follow-upStrong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage C-suite members and property managersSelf-directed with exceptional time management and territory organization skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of the position described. In addition, the employee must be able to Travel frequently to client sites, meetings, and networking events within the assigned territoryWalk properties during site visits, which may include uneven, sloped, or rough terrainSit for extended periods while driving or working at a computerOccasionally lift and carry materials such as marketing materials, samples, or equipment up to 1525 poundsWork both indoors in an office setting and outdoors during site visits in varying weather conditionsPerform tasks requiring close attention to detail, communication, and coordinationSpecific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is primarily office-based with frequent travel to outdoor job sites and client locations. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels may occur during site visits.
