Backed by Tyree & D'Angelo Partners (TDP), WVP has become one of the nation's fastest-growing veterinary organizations through strategic acquisitions and long-term partnerships. As we continue our rapid expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Associate to help fuel our acquisition pipeline by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective veterinary practice owners.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious sales professional looking to build a career in business development. If you're energized by prospecting, relationship-building, and generating new business opportunities, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As a Business Development Associate, you will serve as the first point of contact with prospective veterinary practice owners and play a critical role in expanding WVP's acquisition pipeline. Success in this role requires a consultative approach, exceptional communication skills, persistence, and the ability to build trust through meaningful conversations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and qualify veterinary hospitals and practice owners that align with WVP's acquisition strategy.
  • Generate qualified acquisition opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting, including cold calling, email campaigns, text messaging, direct mail, and social outreach.
  • Build relationships with veterinary practice owners through thoughtful, consultative conversations focused on understanding their long-term goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify acquisition opportunities, emerging markets, competitive activity, and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate prospect information, activity tracking, and pipeline management within CRM platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with Directors of Business Development to transition qualified opportunities through the acquisition process.
  • Manage multiple prospecting campaigns while maintaining high levels of organization and follow-up.
  • Support marketing initiatives, targeted outreach campaigns, and lead generation efforts.
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and veterinary trade shows to expand WVP's market presence.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing, and entrepreneurial business development team.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is naturally curious, resilient, relationship-driven, and excited by the challenge of creating new business opportunities. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, isn't discouraged by rejection, and is motivated by measurable results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development (SDR), Business Development Representative (BDR), Inside Sales, Lead Generation, Account Development, or Customer Success.
  • Experience conducting outbound cold calling and prospecting to small business owners or executive-level decision makers.
  • Strong ability to build rapport and establish credibility with business owners.
  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms – Salesforce preferred.
  • Highly organized with exceptional time management and follow-up skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a competitive drive to exceed activity and performance goals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience within veterinary healthcare, dental, healthcare services, medical practice management, or private equity-backed organizations is preferred but not required.
