The company partners with communities and businesses to reduce energy costs and support the broader transition to a low carbon economy.Role OverviewThe Associate, Business Development will support the evaluation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic growth opportunities across the company's renewable energy portfolio. This role will be heavily focused on financial modeling, investment analysis, transaction underwriting, and due diligence to assess the viability and attractiveness of potential investments. Working closely with senior members of the Business Development team, the Associate will help drive acquisition efforts, support transaction execution, and provide analytical insights that inform key investment decisionsDuties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain complex financial valuation tools to assess distributed energy and infrastructure investments, including project-level and portfolio-level cash flow forecasting, returns analysis, and financing strategy evaluationSupport transaction execution from initial opportunity review through closing by conducting commercial assessments, investment underwriting, detailed diligence, and strategic evaluation of potential development and acquisition opportunitiesBuild, enhance, and utilize internal analytical models to determine economic feasibility, perform scenario and sensitivity analyses, evaluate key value drivers, and identify potential risks under varying market conditionsOversee pipeline management systems and deal-tracking platforms, ensuring accurate opportunity data, monitoring transaction progress, and preparing reporting materials that provide visibility into business development activity and investment performanceConduct in-depth industry and market intelligence research, develop pricing and revenue assumptions, assess third-party market studies, and generate actionable insights to support investment strategy, transaction structuring, and geographic expansion initiativQualificationsUndergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Energy Management, or a comparable disciplineAt least two years of professional experience in transaction-oriented or analytical roles such as investment banking, infrastructure finance, asset management, project development, private equity, consulting, accounting, or related sectorsProven ability to present financial analyses, investment recommendations, and diligence conclusions to both internal stakeholders and external counterparties, including technical advisors, consultants, contractors, and executive leadershipStrong financial modeling capabilities with experience developing detailed valuation and forecasting models from the ground up, including cash flow projections, financing analyses, return assessments, and scenario-based evaluations; prior exposure to renewable energy, power, or infrastructure assets is advantageousWorking knowledge of project and corporate finance concepts, including debt and equity structuring, financing arrangements, lender requirements, investment performance metrics, and capital allocation strategiesDemonstrated success operating in a dynamic, transaction-focused environment while balancing competing priorities, managing deadlines, and driving multiple initiatives forward simultaneouslyExceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with experience coordinating due diligence efforts, reviewing documentation, and maintaining transaction-related informationAdvanced Microsoft Excel expertise, including financial forecasting, sensitivity modeling, large-scale data analysis, and automation techniques; familiarity with financial and market intelligence platforms is preferredExcellent communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing investment materials, transaction summaries, management reports, and executive-level presentationsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requireme#J-18808-Ljbffr
