HIRING A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR IN HOUSTON

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Business Development Coordinator supports DBR firm-wide by identifying new business opportunities, developing client-focused proposals, and helping drive the firm’s growth initiatives. Working closely with Market Leads, this role helps strengthen client relationships and implement strategies that support overall business development goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administration

  • Update and maintain the CRM database with relevant information on targeted clients, contacts, and business opportunities.
  • Manage routine data exports from databases to support business development initiatives and prepare custom reports as needed.
  • Coordinate Business Development staff and Market Lead attendance at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

Planning

  • Participate in and assist with the development and implementation of Business Development (BD) plans targeting key clients and priority markets for the office’s core practice groups.
  • Provide input to strategic planning efforts through market research and competitive analysis.
  • Research new business opportunities and develop prospective leads, with a focus on assigned practice areas, including:
    • Conducting market research and gathering information on potential clients and projects.
    • Identifying cross-marketing opportunities within the firm’s existing client base.
    • Monitoring overall business trends and current market conditions within assigned sectors.
    • Identifying clients within key specialty areas and assisting in the development of applicable sales strategies.
  • Participate in firm-wide BD meetings and help ensure Market Groups remain aligned with Market Sector BD Plans.
  • Assist with conference and event planning initiatives.

Business Development

  • Maintain active involvement in professional and industry organizations.
  • Provide general support to the Business Development team as needed.
  • Coordinate relationship-building events and client engagement activities, including:
    • Association and industry events
    • Client Lunch & Learns
    • Market sector conferences
    • Happy hours and networking/meet-and-greet events
