The firm is seeking a strategic, energetic, creative and highly organized Business Development Coordinator to join our team. This executive-level position works closely with firm leadership and individual attorneys to support and implement the firm's strategic business development objectives.Position SummaryThe Business Development Coordinator will collaborate with the managing member and firm leadership and individual lawyers to plan, implement, and manage firm-wide business development initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and execute strategies that strengthen client relationships, enhance firm visibility, and support the firm's overall growth.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for a full range of law firm business development planning, initiatives and responsibilities. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:Partner with firm management and individual attorneys to develop and manage business development and marketing initiatives, including client outreach, cross-marketing, team building and client eventsSupport individual lawyers in creating and executing personalized business development and marketing plansAssist lawyers with activities related to client relations and firm promotion such as media relations, client events and other business development tasks as identifiedPlan and manage all aspects of client development events, from concept to execution including attendance and participation in such events where appropriateOversee strategic and long‑term planning for the firm and its attorneys related to business development efforts, professional activities and community and business‑related sponsorships and community engagement initiativesAssist the firm with recruiting efforts and professional networkingDevelop, update, and maintain firm marketing materials, including attorney biographies, practice area content, client proposals and presentationsCoordinate and prepare submissions for legal directories, rankings and industry publicationsAssist with firm marketing materials, print materials and firm brand awarenessCollaborate with firm management on website content, design updates, and development of the firm's social and digital media strategy.Track, measure and report on key performance metrics related to business development and marketing effortsManage responses to RFPs/RFIs and assist in the creation of client‑facing business development materialsConduct market research to identify trends, client opportunities, and strategic growth areasQualifications and Prior ExperienceBachelor's Degree or aboveA minimum of 5 years' experience in business development or marketing within a law firm (20+ attorneys) or other professional services environment is recommendedHigh level of proficiency in the MS Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and with online and social media marketingExceptional communication skills, including listening, writing, proofreading and editing and superior attention to detailMust be able to handle sensitive matters with excellent judgment and confidentialityStrong work ethic and positive client service orientationDedication for the development of a professional services business development careerMust be able to handle multiple projects with tight deadlinesPoised and able to exhibit professional diplomacy amid high stress situationsStrong teamwork skills and ability to take ownership of numerous assigned tasks and work with multiple lawyers across multiple practice areas in full‑service law firm environmentCompensation and BenefitsWatkins & Eager offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentives.
