Rohde & Schwarz is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager to be a key stakeholder in growing the Airborne Communications Systems portfolio in North America. As Business Development Manager, you will be part of a team dedicated to enabling our customers to solve complex technical problems through a solutions-based sales approach. The position will be responsible for selling airborne communications system solutions to our US Government customer base and commercial aerospace OEMs.

Your tasks

  • Understand customer needs and identify how Rohde & Schwarz products can provide technical solutions
  • Cultivate new customer relationships and develop into lasting partnerships
  • Expand and grow existing customer relationships
  • Grow market share and exceed quota
  • Build and manage a strong sales funnel
  • Ensure accurate and timely tracking of business opportunities and customer contacts via customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Work closely with other account managers, business development managers, program management, product line management, engineering and other core functional leaders across the segment and corporate organizational structure.

Your qualifications

  • BSEE (or equivalent technical education/operational experience), MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of complex technical sales experience
  • Expertise in military/civil communication systems, including HF/VHF/UHF airborne radios and datalinks
  • Experience working with Department of War prime system contractors/integrators
  • Experience developing new business opportunities with the Department of War and other Federal agencies
  • In depth knowledge of Federal Government requirements and acquisition processes
  • Experience with both large and small account management
  • Possess strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated to learn and understand internal and customer processes
  • Ability to travel regularly, 50% or more, both domestic and international
  • To be considered, candidates must have US citizenship or permanent work authorization and be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance.

The total compensation for this position is $153K-$205K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
