Description:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth within the electrical power construction market by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and leading pursuits for utility infrastructure projects. This individual will partner closely with operations, engineering, estimating, and construction teams to secure new work and expand existing accounts.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of business development, sales, account management, or client relationship experience within the electrical utility construction industry.
Experience developing and growing relationships with large investor-owned utilities (examples include Florida Power & Light, Duke Energy, and similar power companies).
Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure projects including:
Transmission
Distribution
Substations
Proven ability to generate leads, develop opportunities, and close business in a technical sales environment.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
Experience utilizing Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
Ability to travel and independently manage territory growth initiatives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the electrical power construction market.
Build and maintain relationships with utility clients, EMCs, data center developers, and other key stakeholders.
Lead proposal, presentation, and RFP development efforts.
Partner with estimating, operations, and engineering teams during pre-construction activities.
Attend client meetings, conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Manage sales pipeline activity through CRM systems and provide forecasting/reporting.
Support contract negotiations and transition awarded projects to construction teams.
Develop account growth strategies and execute territory plans to achieve revenue goals.

The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
Mileage reimbursement, 20% bonus, medical, dental, and vision benefits.
