We are seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to develop our Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality Architecture & Engineering practice across the East Coast. This role is focused on developing national and regional rolloutclients, generating new leads, and converting pursuits into awarded work for multi-site and program-based projects.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys travel, understands branded environments, and is energized by building long-term client programs.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Client GrowthIdentify, pursue, and develop new Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality clients, including national brands, franchise groups, developers, and ownersConduct market research to identify, qualify, and track targeted opportunities aligned with corporate strategy.Stay informed on industry, market, and competitor trends to identify potential opportunities.Present the firm as a trusted partner for prototypes, rollouts, renovations, and expansions.Attend industry events, brand meetings, and client visits to generate and qualify leadsLead RFP/RFQ responses for Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality projectsWrite and coordinate proposals, qualifications, and interview presentationsCollaborate with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to develop pursuit strategiesAlign scope, schedule, and fee strategies with client expectations and rollout timelinesRollout & Program DevelopmentSupport the development of repeat-client, multi-site programsIdentify opportunities to expand services across regions, brands, and portfoliosAssist in transitioning awarded work to project teams while maintaining client continuityTravel & Energy ExpectationsFrequent travel required (30%) to client offices and industry eventsMust be comfortable with rapid turnaround pursuits and multiple active opportunitiesHigh energy, strong follow-up, and a proactive mindset are essentialQualificationsRequired5+ years of business development experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related professional servicesDirect experience in Retail, Restaurant, and/or Hospitality markets is a plusDemonstrated success generating leads and securing client workStrong presentation, and communication skillsWillingness to travel across the East CoastHighly organized, self-motivated, and results-orientedPreferredExisting relationships with retailers, restaurant brands, hospitality groups, franchise operators, or developersFamiliarity with CRM systems and pursuit trackingWhy PM DesignNationwide A/E firm with 14 offices, 160+ professionals, and industry-leading retail and restaurant clients.
