Business Development Manager

Location: Aurora, IL
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead revenue growth through strategic, solution-based selling of advanced technology offerings. This role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional with experience in networking, cybersecurity, access control, and video security solutions, particularly within state, local, and education (SLED) markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, develop, propose, and close deals
  • Align technology and smart infrastructure solutions with client business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive decision-makers in new and existing accounts
  • Lead the development of customized proposals in collaboration with technical and operations teams
  • Support quoting and pricing strategies to ensure competitive and profitable offerings
  • Maintain and manage an active sales pipeline within CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot)
  • Leverage channel partnerships and reseller relationships to expand market presence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between sales and delivery teams
  • Deliver compelling presentations and negotiate contract terms
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive positioning
  • Represent the organization at industry events and networking opportunities
  • Foster long-term client relationships and support account growth initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven success in IT, networking, security, or smart infrastructure sales
  • Demonstrated ability to sell directly and through technology partners
  • Experience with solution-based selling to executive leadership in enterprise and public sector markets
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and low voltage security/surveillance systems
  • Proven track record of managing complex sales cycles and achieving revenue targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven with a strong hunter mentality
  • Experience developing sales proposals and supporting quoting processes
