Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Business Development Manager will lead global growth efforts. This role focuses on identifying and securing new opportunities for electric motors, starter generators, and related technologies within our current and future aerospace and defense customers.Position DutiesEssential functions of the position include, but are not limited toIdentify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense contractors globallyDevelop strategic relationships with aerospace and defense industry stakeholdersWork closely with engineering teams to align technical solutions with customer requirementsLead customer engagements, proposal development, contract negotiations, and bid strategiesAnalyze market trends and competitor offerings in the electric propulsion segmentRepresent the company during customer visits as well as global aerospace and defense exhibitions and industry eventsMonitor and report on KPIs and growth targetsOther Duties as assigned by Vice President of Sales and Marketing.Education, Experience and SkillsKnowledgeThorough knowledge Aerospace Environment, client products and administrative operations.Must understand internal functions relating to all company departments.Sales Engineer must have a strong technical and business background.Effective oral and written communication skills; organizational skills and ability to motivate and task Representatives.Must have sensitivity in dealing with both internal and external customers. Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.Aviation related background is preferred.At least two years of experience in business development in aerospace/defense, ideally in propulsion, power systems, or electrical components.Deep understanding of electric motor and generator technologies and their aerospace applications is a plus.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects. The employee frequently is required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.
