As a member of the U.S. Consumer team, the BDM maintains a comprehensive understanding of technology roadmaps, market trends, and product developments across major OEMs. While the role does not own direct customer relationships, success requires exceptional influence without authority, strong collaboration with sales teams, and the ability to create value that makes others seek out and leverage the BDM's expertise.

The successful candidate will proactively identify growth opportunities, support customer engagements, accelerate opportunity conversion, and partner closely with distribution channel leaders to increase market share and revenue growth for MSBU products.

  • Understand customer system architectures and identify opportunities where MSBU products deliver competitive advantage.
  • Provide guidance on product selection, application fit, competitive positioning, and future roadmap alignment.
  • Stay current on new product introductions, technology trends, and industry developments impacting interconnect solutions.

Sales Enablement & Influence

  • Build trusted relationships with account managers, sales leaders, and business development teams across the U.S. organization.
  • Influence without direct authority by becoming an indispensable resource that sales teams actively seek out and engage.
  • Support customer visits, technical discussions, and opportunity reviews.
  • Provide training and coaching to sales teams on applications, competitive positioning, and customer value propositions.
  • Drive accountability by proactively tracking actions, ensuring timely follow-up, and helping sales teams advance opportunities.
  • Act as the internal champion for MSBU growth initiatives.

Customer Engagement Support

  • Participate in strategic customer meetings alongside account managers.
  • Assist in identifying future programs, design opportunities, and expansion projects.
  • Develop strong external credibility through market and application expertise.
  • Support customers with roadmap discussions and technology trend insights.
  • Help drive design-in activity and increase specification of MSBU solutions in future programs.

Distribution Channel Growth

  • Serve as the MSBU expert supporting strategic distributor partners.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of MSBU market share, product mix, and growth opportunities within each distributor.
  • Analyze sales performance, customer penetration, and share trends across distribution partners.
  • Create and execute growth plans aimed at increasing MSBU revenue and market share.
  • Establish measurable objectives and performance expectations with distributors.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and hold distributors accountable for agreed growth targets.
  • Enable distributor sales teams with product knowledge, application expertise, and market insights.

  • Drives measurable design-win growth across targeted consumer applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience working with OEMs, EMS providers, and distribution partners.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into growth strategies.
  • Willingness to travel for customer, distributor, and internal meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with connector, interconnect, cable assembly, or miniaturized electronic component technologies.
  • Knowledge of leading consumer OEM roadmaps, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience supporting distribution channel growth and market share expansion.
  • Technical background enabling effective engagement with engineering and product development teams.

  • Distributor share gains and growth execution.
  • Sales team engagement and utilization of MSBU expertise.
  • Quality and quantity of market intelligence and strategic insights.
  • Effectiveness in advancing opportunities through influence, collaboration, and execution.

This position combines the technical depth of a product specialist, the strategic vision of a market developer, and the relationship-building skills of a trusted advisor, making it a critical driver of MSBU growth within the U.S. Consumer Electronics market.
