As we expand our portfolio, we're looking for a driven Business Development Manager to help us grow strategically across both markets.The RoleAs our Business Development Manager, you'll be the connective tissue between our engineering talent and the clients who need it. You'll identify and pursue new opportunities across government/defense and commercial aerospace sectors, build lasting relationships, and help shape the strategic direction of our growth. This is a high-impact, highly visible role in a small company. Your work will directly influence our trajectory.What You'll DoIdentify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in both government/defense and commercial aerospace marketsBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, contracting officers, primes, and commercial clientsLead proposal development efforts, including capture strategy, teaming arrangements, and proposal writing coordinationMonitor government procurement pipelines (SAM.gov, GovWin, etc.) and commercial market trends to identify upcoming opportunitiesRepresent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking eventsCollaborate closely with engineering and leadership teams to align business development efforts with technical capabilitiesMaintain and grow our pipeline using CRM tools, providing regular reporting to leadershipSupport contract negotiations and assist in onboarding new clientsWhat We're Looking ForRequired:3–6 years of business development, capture management, or sales experience in aerospace, defense, or a related engineering industryFamiliarity with both government contracting processes (FAR/DFARS, proposal requirements, clearance levels) and commercial client developmentDemonstrated track record of winning new business or expanding existing accountsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting proposal effortsSelf-starter mentality — comfortable operating with autonomy in a small-company environmentAbility to travel up to 50% of the timePreferred:Existing relationships within DoD, NASA, or other government agenciesExperience with CRM platformsBachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related fieldMust be a U.S. citizenWhy Join UsCompetitive salary + performance-based bonusFlexible work arrangementsDirect access to leadership and real influence over company strategyA tight-knit, highly skilled team that takes pride in its workHEKA is an equal opportunity employer.
