The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, targeting and generating new business opportunities across priority markets, industries and client segments. This role focuses on proactive prospecting, market research, relationship development and pipeline generation to support long-term revenue growth. The position plays a key role in expanding the businesses market presence by creating qualified opportunities that transition into active sales pursuits and long-term client relationships. Partners closely with sales leadership, Account Executives and cross-functional teams to drive strategic growth initiatives, strengthen client engagement and increase new logo acquisition across target markets.

Salary – $90,000.00 - $100,000.00

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Equivalent prospecting, new logo generation, or dealership sales experience may substitute.
  • Training in business development strategy, CRM workflow discipline, or consultative outreach preferred.
  • 2-5+ years of business development, strategic prospecting, lead generation, or consultative sales experience required.
  • Proven success in cold outreach, market mapping, pipeline generation and new logo acquisition strongly preferred.
  • Experience in B2B sales, contract furniture, workplace solutions, commercial interiors, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience working with CRM discipline, lead conversion metrics and pipeline stage management preferred.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building success across target verticals or territories preferred.
  • Training in business development strategy, CRM workflow discipline, or consultative outreach preferred
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic, competitive drive and commitment to achieving goals and delivering results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Valid Driver License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check is required.

Typical Duties
  • Identifies and prioritizes new markets, industries and target client segments aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Develops and executes outreach strategies focused on generating qualified leads and new client relationships.
  • Builds and manages a healthy pipeline of prospective opportunities across assigned verticals and territories.
  • Conducts market research to identify emerging trends, whitespace opportunities and competitive activity.
  • Partners closely with Account Executives and sales leadership to transition qualified leads into active sales opportunities.
  • Supports strategic prospecting campaigns through calls, emails, networking and industry engagement.
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with prospective clients, industry partners and influencers.
  • Maintains accurate CRM records for outreach activity, meetings, lead status and opportunity progression.
  • Tracks pipeline development, conversion rates and business development performance metrics.
  • Provides regular updates to leadership on market activity, target account progress and lead generation trends.
  • Prepares reporting and forecasting data related to pipeline health and business development activity.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of client and opportunity data within CRM and internal systems.
  • Follows company standards for lead qualification, handoff processes and documentation.
  • Maintains accurate records of prospect interactions, meetings and follow-up activities.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve prospecting workflows, lead qualification standards and CRM usage.
  • Recommends enhancements to outreach strategies, automation tools and reporting visibility.
  • Improves collaboration processes between business development and sales teams to increase conversion.
  • Conducts proactive prospecting activities including cold outreach, networking, referrals and market mapping.
  • Builds relationships with prospective clients, partners and key decision-makers.
  • Collaborates with sales teams to align prospecting efforts with strategic growth initiatives.
  • Stays informed on market trends, competitive landscape and client buying triggers.
  • Attends and acts as a representative at networking events, trade associations and industry functions.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
