Enterprise Business Development Representative (Remote)

Rainier Recruiting is partnering with a fast-growing B2B SaaS company in the scientific and technical software space is hiring an Enterprise Business Development Representative to support expansion into mid market and enterprise accounts. This role focuses heavily on outbound prospecting, account penetration, and early-stage deal development in partnership with senior sales leaders.

Location: This role is fully remote, but candidates must live in an approved location: Toronto, Canada (except Pacific Time Zone), Boston, DC area, Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Austin, Pittsburgh

Compensation: Canada: $58k CAD + 40% uncapped commission = $81,200 OTE

US: $60k USD + 40% uncapped commission = $84k OTE

What You’ll Do
  • Identify, research, and engage target accounts, with a strong emphasis on large, multi-stakeholder organizations.
  • Connect with both end users and senior decision-makers (Director, VP, C-level) to uncover needs and generate qualified opportunities.
  • Own the earliest stages of the sales cycle—outbound outreach, discovery conversations, qualification—and transition opportunities to Account Executives and Customer Success partners.
  • Partner closely with sales, marketing, and growth teams to execute coordinated outreach strategies and improve messaging.
  • Use CRM and data tools to track activity, analyze results, and continuously improve outreach effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

Experience
  • 1–3 years of outbound B2B SaaS sales or business development experience
  • Majority of current or recent role focused on outbound prospecting (cold calling, research, pipeline generation)
  • Consistent history of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Stable recent employment and strong performance record
  • Comfortable running discovery calls and asking thoughtful, challenging questions
  • Fearless with cold outreach and high-volume calling
  • Strong qualification instincts and ability to identify real business pain
  • Experience using lead intelligence tools (e.g., ZoomInfo or similar)
  • Highly articulate with strong written and verbal communication
  • Coachable, curious, and eager to improve
  • Self-directed, organized, and disciplined in managing pipeline and follow-ups
  • Competitive, driven, and resilient (athletic background a plus, not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or exposure to science, life sciences, or technical fields is a plus but not required
