BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

A Business Development Manager for a California security guard company on a commission basis drives revenue by securing new contracts for  unarmed guard services, patrol units, and event security. Compensation is heavily commission-driven, often featuring a low base salary plus high performance bonuses or pure commission.

Key Duties

• Find new clients in commercial real estate, construction, retail, and residential communities.

• Make cold calls, send emails, and visit local businesses to pitch services.

• Set up meetings with property managers and business owners.

• Write price quotes and proposals for security services.

• Close sales deals and sign new service contracts.

• Keep good ties with past and current clients for repeat business.

Job Requirements

• Valid California Guard Card (or willingness to get one).

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the security industry or B2B field.

• Strong knowledge of California business laws and guard regulations.

• Great communication and negotiation skills.

• Own a reliable car with a valid driver license for local travel.

Pay and Commission Structure

• Type: 1099 independent contractor or W-2 with base plus commission.

• Commission Rate: 10% to 25% of the first month's contract value, or ongoing residual commission (1% to 5%) for the life of the account.

• Bonus: Extra cash rewards for hitting monthly or quarterly sales goals.
